Where I grew up, in the small town of Presidio Texas, “yoga studio” was not even a concept. My passion for a healthier lifestyle actually started with running. Running helped me get out of my head while I was struggling with emotional wounds. This ritual shifted my mind and my focus, but I searched for something more. I started practicing yoga in 2004 by watching DVDs from Alejandro Maldonado. My mind was all over the place and I felt really uncomfortable- so I backed out and went back to something I knew how to do- running. I still kept searching for more and then I found Black Swan Yoga when I moved to Austin. After giving yoga a second chance, I was completely sold; this class challenged my body and my mind. I felt refreshed, reenergized and most importantly I was able to find the inner peace I had long been searching for. Every pose, every drop of sweat is an invocation and a devotion to my higher self. Yoga has helped me find my connection to the earth and my place in the universe. I love sharing my knowledge and passion of yoga with all my students. My goal is to make my students aware of how their alignment in their body can shift their attitude and their mind. My classes are very accessible, fun and engaging- they will leave you feeling accomplished, reenergized and a little sweaty!
